Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions families ask us most.

What does "non-medical" home care mean?

We help with daily living: bathing, dressing, meals, housekeeping, companionship, transportation, and more. We do not provide skilled nursing procedures like wound care or injections. If your loved one also needs medical care at home, we're happy to work alongside a home health provider.

How much does home care cost?

For many of our families, little or nothing comes out of pocket — care is covered by Medicaid (T-19), Family Care, Community Care, I-Care, UnitedHealthcare, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, MHS Health Wisconsin, IRIS, or VA benefits. Private insurances and private pay are also available. The honest answer depends on your loved one's coverage and hours of care, so the fastest way to a real number is one phone call: (414) 751-7090.

Can a family member really be hired to provide the care?

Yes, in many cases. We hire family members as caregivers, with real benefits. See Become a Family Caregiver for the details.

How quickly can care start?

It depends on the insurance program and your loved one's situation, but we move as fast as the paperwork allows. Call us and we'll give you a realistic timeline for your case.

What if we only need a few hours a week?

That's fine — care plans range from occasional check-in visits to live-in and 24-hour care. We build the schedule around your family, not the other way around.

How do you choose the caregiver for my loved one?

We match based on care needs, personality, and schedule — and we listen to your feedback. If a family member is available, they can often be the caregiver. Otherwise, we introduce local, carefully selected caregivers supported by our nursing staff.

What areas do you serve?

Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington, Racine, and Kenosha counties, from our offices in Glendale and Greenfield. See Service Areas.

Can care plans change over time?

Always. Needs change — schedules, hours, and services can all be adjusted. We check in regularly and adapt the plan as your loved one's situation evolves.
